Are You Being Seen On The Social Networking Scene?
June 24, 2008
One of my main goals for my clients is to assist them to “be seen”.
Social Networking sites have the absolute capability to allow your business to “be seen” not only by prospective clients and business partners, but also by various media outlets.
Recently, one of my clients was featured in the local newspaper and has also been asked to participate on TV and various industry-related events.
Soon after, I was contacted to be interviewed on an internet radio show for the very first time, after connecting with the host on a business level via LinkedIn. It certainly came as a big surprise to me and found it very flattering to be invited.
I have one other particular client who would like nothing more than to obtain some positive media attention for his business. Along with utilizing the usual advertising methods in an attempt to capture local customer attention, along comes Social Networking, allowing us to spread that awareness far and wide. We have a fairly new business relationship and I have been very confident, reassuring him that he will reach his goals through our social networking efforts. So, last week he was contacted via MySpace and invited to be featured in a new online magazine. And so it begins…
If you’re looking to capture the media’s attention to boost your business in a more modernized way, be sure to utilize the social web to your advantage and get your business seen today!

Social Networking Overwhelm?
June 3, 2008
I’m sure you’ve heard the “buzz” by now about social networking of which some of you may or may not have jumped onto the bandwagon by now. While it definitely seems to be the wave of the future, you may have noticed that more and more platforms focused on this phenomenon are popping up left and right, and the list is growing very quickly. While there are many core sites, like MySpace and Facebook, many niche sites are being created as well that cater to your specific personal interests or business industry, including real estate, music, fashion, philanthropic, etc. These sites offer the opportunity to connect with others who share those same interests with you. Not only are they being created for personal use, many platforms also offer a wonderful opportunity for businesses to connect with their potential customers and partners on a more personal, and very convenient level when utilized and managed efficiently and correctly.
As you begin to explore the possibilities of social networking, you may realize that it can also get a bit overwhelming. I’ve heard others who have also been networking online for a while now say that it’s best for folks who are just getting familiar with the concept to choose 3 networks at the most to participate in. I tend to agree as some sites offer what others don’t and if you choose carefully, you’ll see that they are becoming more and more intertwined to one another. Many people want to explore, but just don’t have the time. However, when you’re first beginning on your own, you’ll want to start out slowly with one network, which is a good way to get your feet wet. Either way, I highly encourage everyone, especially business owners, to consider social networking as the next wave of modern communication if you haven’t already. If you need help, you know where to find it.
Go farther…. Don’t get left behind!
